Two habits improve your matches more than anything on our side. The first is showing up during a busy window instead of a dead one. The second is giving each match about ten seconds of genuine attention before deciding — the difference between a good conversation and a skipped one is often just someone saying an actual sentence first.
The third thing, which nobody likes hearing, is lighting. You do not need equipment, but a face lit from the front gets talked to and a silhouette gets skipped. That is not vanity, it is just how people read a small video frame.

Whenever it is evening in a large timezone. Late night tends to give fewer but more talkative matches, and weekday afternoons are the thinnest window.
Can I choose which country I match with?
Matching is random by design. Filters exist for some preferences, but the pool at that moment sets the real limit on who you can reach.
